As many of you already know, I am a licensed NJ Real Estate Instructor and co-owner of The South Jersey Real Estate Academy. My Broker, Joseph F. Pino and I began the school back in 2011 since there were no Salem County Real Estate pre-licensing classes. Both Joe and I really enjoy teaching new agents and this year, we began the first of our Broker’s Classes. It has been super-rewarding to also teach experienced agents. Three of our students, so far, have passed the NJ Broker’s test! (we’re so very proud….more on that later!)
Now, the shoe is on the other foot, for me. I have recently signed up for college-level classes in the area of Health & Wellness, in order to learn how to take better care of myself. My Pop always said, “aging isn’t for sissies”, so I recently realized I’d better prepare for the last-half of my life…..I want to enjoy as much of my quickly-approaching 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s as I march towards 100!
My ‘Granny’ on my father’s side lived to be 101! Martha Scruggs is my inspiration for wanting to get to the year 2061. Over the next 12 months, I will be participating in online classes covering at least 100 nutrition plans, vitamins, supplements, proper breathing, the importance of good-quality rest, in addition to many, many other interesting & helpful subjects. I am thrilled to be a student at IIN and hope to share what I learn with my family, friends, co-workers as well as readers here at MyDayInSalemCounty. I have already learned so much just by completing the preliminary fundamental classes. I am incredibly excited to begin the first class next week!
A good friend of mine, Michele Szymborski, has already graduated as an ‘Holistic Health Coach of Integrated Nutrition’ from IIN and has recently written her first book, Journey Beyond The Plate. (available on amazon in both print and for kindle)
What an excellent role model, she is!
Michele provides one-on-one Health Coaching as well as group coaching. Sitting with her for a free, initial consultation inspired me to sign up at IIN for a complete education in nutrition, health & wellness. Her passion and dedication to good health will rub off on you, too, should you treat yourself by meeting with her. I highly recommend her guidance if you are wanting to live a fuller, healthier more harmonious life. Michele is so fantastic, she was recognized today as a winner of ‘The Launch Your Dream Book Top 10 Author Contest’
I’m also extremely excited to share with you that I just started a very special class through the National Association of Realtors, to learn how to best help our beloved Veterans with their housing needs, whether they are selling, buying or leasing. I will be taught, in depth, about the benefits available to our Veterans. These lessons will help me to be a valuable resource to the nearly 3,000 men & women Veterans of the Armed Forces living here in Salem County. I began the class to earn the ‘Military Relocation Professional’ (MRP) designation this evening and expect to take the final exam (….and pass it!!!) by the middle of next week. (here is a picture of the logo from NAR’s website)
The special place in my heart that I have for Veterans has grown so much deeper since my Pop passed away in January of 2017. I feel compelled to honor his memory, as well as his service to the Navy, during WWII and the Korean War.
Anyhow, signing off for today.
Time to hit the books. 🙂
