On a relatively quiet day of computer work, signing contracts for a property and answering questions about several listings, the brightest spot was the beautiful evening in the park here in Pennsville — ‘National Night Out’. The Pino Team manned a table, passing out Real Estate information. We also held a drawing for a 3-minute shopping spree at The Dollar Tree, here in town. (You can imagine how excited the winner is!!!)
“National Night Out was established in 1984 with funding from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), U.S. Department of Justice. The program is administered by the National Association of Town Watch, a nationwide organization dedicated to the development, maintenance, and protection of community-based, law enforcement affiliated crime prevention activities. National Night Out was developed as a crime prevention program that emphasizes building a partnership between the police and the community. Community involvement in crime prevention is generated through a multitude of local events, such as block parties, cookouts, parades, contests, youth activities, and seminars.”

Here in Pennsville, ‘National Night Out’ is coordinated by MAPSA of Pennsville. (Municipal Alliance to Prevent Substance Abuse). It is their 16th year of participation in this worthwhile event. This year, there were in excess of 60 vendors/businesses/nonprofits in the park greeting the families, handing out goodies, holding drawings for special prizes, doling out free snacks, enjoying beautiful music, among other activities. It truly was a lovely evening and next year, The Pino Team wants to be even more involved! We were so happy to be included, so happy to see everyone at the park and more than that, so very happy to support MAPSA in their efforts to make Pennsville a safer, healthier place for children. We’ll be learning more about the“Dog Walker Watch” Program over the next several months and share what we learn here and on our Facebook Pages.
Until next year………
